However we can only update the results and points after receiving the race results. No results, no updates.

May 3...Mike Hess passed teammate David Gough with eight laps remaining to win Round One of Duel at the Dam, 30-lap Badger Midget Series feature, Saturday Night at Charter Raceway Park. Hess driving the Jerry Hardy owned Buzzard/Chevrolet by Hawk#4, finished 1.91 seconds ahead of Gough, Chad DeSelle, Joe Wipperfurth and Tim Noble....Steve Buckwalter picked up the win in the 20-lap ARDC Midget feature at Susquehanna Speedway Park on Saturday Night. Buckwalter started tenth and powered his way into the lead on the sixth lap and went on to win the race by a straightaway over Nick Wean.  Frank Polimeda finished third, followed by Tracy Readinger and Scott Lenig.  

April 28...Results from Brett Anderson's victory in the O'Reilly/Lucas Oil POWRi Midget Series event at Macon Speedway have been posted.

April 27...For the third straight year Billy Wease won the 100-lap Gerhardt Classic at Madera Speedway, USAC Western Midget Car Series event on Saturday Night. It also marked the fifth straight victory in the event for car owner Western Speed. Modified veteran Eddie Martin won his first career midget feature picking up the victory at West Siloma,Okla. in SMRS action. Nathan High out dueled Ricky Johnson to win the AMRA event at Manzanita Speedway.

April 26...Friday Night's season opening event for the O'Reilly/Lucas Oil POWRi Midget Series at Jacksonville Raceway was rained out. Matt Sherrell won Friday Night's SMRS Season opener at Wainright,Okla.

April 25...Tony Barhorst announced the addition of the Rumble In The Toledo SeaGate Centre, a new indoor race event date on Friday, Dec. 19 and Saturday, Dec. 20. The United States Auto Club returns with a special event that combines the National, Regional, Kenyon, and Ford Focus cars running a full show with a 60-lap feature on Friday and Saturday. The Outlaw Modified 600 cc Winged Midgets take will have a full show and a 50-lap feature each day. The Lucas Oil Quarter Midgets, and karts are also compete both days.
        The SeaGate Centre, in the revitalized downtown Toledo .  Race officials plan a load-in, practice and Christmas Party on Thursday, Dec. 18, starting at noon on Dec 18 with practice from 6 to 10 p.m. A Christmas Party will be Friday, Dec. 19, during and after the races. The pits open at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 19 and at 8 a.m. , on Saturday, Dec. 20, the front gates open at noon , with the full USAC event after 7 p.m.
       
One really nice aspect of this location is the Park Inn (formerly the Radisson) connected to the SeaGate Centre and overlooking the Maumee River in downtown Toledo . With 400 rooms it is the largest hotel in northwestern Ohio . I have secured a “racers’ rate of $79” (normally $139). Fans and competitors should ask for the Rumble rate specifically by calling 419-241-3000 for rooms only. The 2008 indoor series now includes the Buckeye Bowl at the Ohio State Fairgrounds Coliseum on Nov. 1, and the Rumble At The Fort Wayne Memorial Coliseum Expo Center on Dec. 26 and 27, in addition to the new Toledo dates.
        The Rumble Series is also promoting the USAC Indiana Midget Week date on dirt outdoors at the Union County Speedway south of
Richmond , and west of Liberty , Ind. , on Thursday, Aug. 7. April 22...Its been billed as the world's fastest quarter-mile oval for decades, in less than four weeks, Slinger Speedway could become the site of the midget racings fastest lap for quarter-mile track. On Saturday Night May 17 The USAC Mopar National Midget Championship  will compete in the "Second annual Kubota Stan Fox Classic".
        A field of over thirty cars are excepted to compete in the event. With Slinger's surface and high banking the current fastest quarter-mile lap of 11.406 seconds turned by Jason Leffler at Anderson (Ind.) Speedway on June 17, 1998 could be in jeopardy. Tracy Hines and surprising Cole Whitt find themselves currently tied for the series point lead after the first three events.
        The Slinger event will be the second of three straight events for the series. Action kicks off on Friday Night  May 16 with the "Battle in the Bluffs" at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway (West Salem,Wis.). Following Slinger will be a Sunday Afternoon May 18 at Rockford Speedway.
        Support divisions have been announced, with The Mid American Stock Car Series will competing at LaCrosse. The Illini Racing Series and Formula Indy will compete at Slinger and Rockford. The Illini series in agreement with STM promotions has made rule adjustments to allow competitors to compete in their portion of the event by running spec Mickey Thompson/American Racer Tires.          The midget car owner earning the most points in the three events along with May 30 Mid-State Equipment Sue Thiel Memorial at the Dodge County Fairgrounds (Beaver Dam). will receive a $1,000 bonus with the remainder of the point fund  ($4,000) distributed to cars competing in all four events.

April 21...
Six drivers with previous Badger Midget Series feature victories at Charter Raceway head the list of enteries for the Saturday Night May 3 Round One of Duel at The Dam. The split show will also feature the Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint Cars Series. The remaining two events for both series at 1/3-mile clay oval will be on May 31 and July 12.
        Three-time series champion Scott Hatton's four victories place him third in all-time feature victories in the previous 47 midget events run at the track since reopening in the current configuration in 1993. Other Charter feature winners competing include: Aaron Fiscus, Brandon Waelti, Davey Ray, Michael Pickens and Mike Hess. Twenty different drivers have scored at least one midget feature victory at the track.

April 20...Paul Zimmerly of Ridgefield , Wash. ended up winning Saturday’s “Pacific Coast Spring Nationals” USAC Western Midget race at Altamont Motorsports Park after the race was halted after 23 laps due to a tangle between Nic Faas and Garrett Hansen. Zimmerly had taken the lead in his K & N Filters/Toyota TRD Spike/Toyota on lap 16 from Evan Margeson, who led the first 15 laps.  Michael Faccinto ended up second ahead of Daniel Bedford, Levi Roberts and Shane Mathews.  

April 19...Reigning BCRA Champion Justin Grant out dueled Chris Rahe and Dallen McKenney to capture his second-career BCRA feature victory at King’s Speedway in Hanford, CA on Saturday. 

April 6...Shane Hammond, one of the Northeastern Midget Association young stalwarts, died Sunday from “traumatic injuries” sustained in a crash at Thompson International Speedway’s season-opening Icebreaker. The crash occurred on the fourth lap of the scheduled 25-lapper. Hammond, 27, of Halifax, MA, made contact with another car at the end of the backstretch on the fourth lap. Getting airborne, Hammond’s car cleared the concrete wall and struck a billboard in turn three.
          After being extricated from the racer (a process that took some 12 minutes), Hammond was taken by ambulance to Day Kimball Hospital in nearby Putnam where he died. NEMA immediately suspended the race. It was the first of nineteen scheduled events for the 58-year old club. 
         Hammond, who was diving Mike Jarret’s #4x second car, joined the Midget ranks in 2003 after a very successful stint in Go Karts.  Regarded as a “steady hand,” he had “shook down” the car on several occasions and last raced it at Beech Ridge in 2007. The last fatality for NEMA was Ed Clothier at Westboro Speedway on June 19, 1965.

 
April 5...Josh Ford won the 30-lap USAC Western Midget Series feature Saturday Night at Ventura Speedway, leading the entire race winning over Nic Faas and Scott Pierovich. 

March 30...Dave Darland scored a wire-to-wire victory Sunday afternoon capturing the 40-lap Badger Midget Series feature in The Amsoil Sandbox Arena at Cedar Lake Speedway. Darland driving the Hans Lein/Spike/Ford-Esslinger#2  finished one car length ahead of Jerry Coons Jr., Scott Hatton, Aaron Fiscus and Bubba Altig.

March 29...Brandon Waelti captured the season opening Badger Midget Series 30-lap feature at the Amsoil Sandbox Arena at Cedar Lake Speedway, Saturday Night. The event was the first ever automobile race event inside America 's newest indoor racing facility. Waelti drove the Jim Fiscus/Spike/Ford-Esslinger#7, and was followed by Darland, Aaron Fiscus, fast qualifier David Gough and Nick Lundgreen....Chris Rahe topped R.J. Johnson to win the AMRA Midget feature at Manzanita Speedway....Shane Hmeil won the BCRA season opener at Shasta Raceway Park...Brad Loyet passed Daniel Adler on the final lap to win the POWRI Midget Series feature at the Southern Illinois Center.

March 19...Robby Flock will try to increase his USAC Western Midget career victory total this Saturday night when the series visits Bakersfield ( Calif. ) Speedway . Flock is an eight-time USAC Midget winner at Bakersfield , his last win coming in June of 2006. A win Saturday would vault him past Sleepy Tripp (who also has eight wins) as the winningest USAC Midget driver in Bakersfield Speedway history.  

            Danny Ebberts, USAC’s 2001 Western Midget Champ, is also expected to compete, along with lady drivers Shannon McQueen and Randi Pankratz.  Scott Pierovich, Chris Rahe and C.J. Sarna, who all recorded “top-10” point finishes last year, are also expected, along with Ford Focus graduate Paul Zimmerly and Al and Bradley Galedrige.  

 

March 18...After new management in Dodge City elected not to renew the Midget Klassic, AIMS, RMMRA, and SMRS will co-sanction two nights of Midget racing, beginning Sunday, July 27th at Eagle Raceway (Lincoln, NE) and Monday, July 28th at Butler MotorPlex, Rising City (York, NE).  The two tracks are less than an hour apart, and less than an hour from McCool Junction and Belleville. Both events are RMMRA points races with RMMRA Tire and Weight Rules in effect for all competitors (Am Racer option for non-RMMRA cars). 

March 16...R.J.Johnson won Saturday Night's AMRAseason opener at Manzanita Speedway. Results and point pages have been updated. 

March 14...The BCRA will wait two weeks to open it’s 65th season of auto racing, as this Saturday, March 15th’s scheduled race at the King’s (Hanford, Calif.) Speedway  has been canceled due to inclement weather, including forecasts predicting heavy rain tomorrow evening. The season opener will be on March 29 at the Shasta Raceway Park (Anderson, Calif.).  

March 1...With the addition of the UMARA schedule there are now 236 slated for the 2008 NMDOTY championship.  

February 29...Eight drivers who have scored previous indoor midget feature victories head the list of early entries for the Badger Midget Series season opening event on Saturday night/Sunday afternoon, March 29-30. The event will be held in America's newest indoor motorsports facility, the Amsoil Sandbox Arena at Cedar Lake Speedway.     

        The field is headed by Jerry Coons Jr. who captured 14 features during the 2007 season, including five in Badger sanctioned events. Other feature winning indoor drivers entered are: Dave Darland, Scott Hatton, Davey Ray, Aaron Fiscus, Mike Hess, David Gough, and Robbie Ray. 
        The 120,000 square foot facility opened in October 2007 and has hosted weekly motocross racing on the dirt motocross track. In the weeks leading up to the event, track officials will replace the motocross design with a semi-banked clay oval measuring between 1/4-1/5-mile, a wall and safety fencing will also be put in place for the event. February 19...
Former Badger Midget Series driver, car owner and officer William “Butch” C. Dahlke, age 61, passed away on Tuesday, at The Ripon Medical Center after a short battle with cancer.
        Dahlke first competed in the series as a driver in 1980 and continued full-time for around a dozen years before fielding entries as a car owner until the conclusion of the 2006 season. Dahlke was elected president of the Badger Midget Auto Racing Association in fall of 1990, and ended serving thirteen one-year terms in the capacity over the next fifteen years, the most in the organizations 72-year history. 
        Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home in Ripon, followed by a Memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Internment will take place at a later date. A memorial has been established.

February 16...Darren Hagen passed Garrett Hansen for the lead on the seventh lap and went onto victory in the "Copper on the Dirt" USAC National/Western Midget Car Series event Saturday Night at Manzanita Speedway. Trailing Hagen were his Keith Kunz Motorsports teammate Cole Whitt, Jerry Coons Jr., Tracy Hines and Brad Sweet.   

February 15...Rains forced postponement of Friday's scheduled preliminaries for the "Copper on Dirt" USAC racing events presented b y Sands Chevrolet at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Ariz. Saturday's new timetable has pit gates opening at 7 am and wheel-packing starting at 9:20 am. Practice begins at 10:15 and qualifying starts at 10:30. The first heat race starts at 12:45 pm. A break will occur in mid-afternoon to prepare for Saturday night's final events. A 25-lap Midget, 40-lap Sprint and 50-lap Silver Crown feature will conclude Saturday night's program. A total of 120 cars have signed in for the tripleheader.

February 12...Saturday's DuQuoin Winter Nationals have been cancelled due to inclement weather. The Illinois State Police have advised the public to restricted traveling in the Southern Illinois region. The area is currently suffering a power outage that is affecting approx 30,000 homes and businesses along with poor road conditions. All pre-entries will be moved to the March 29th race. February 10...The AMRA and SSMA  schedules has been released and are on the schedule page. A total of 226 races are slated for the 2008 season. 

February 6...Ed Pink has announced the sale of Ed Pink Racing Engines (EPRE) to successful entrepreneur and vintage racecar collector and racer Tom Malloy.
       “It’s funny how things happen,” said Tom Malloy, who also owns Trench Shoring Company. “I became acquainted with Ed’s operation as EPRE was re-building a big block engine for my Can-Am car. I noticed the attention to details and the ability to do all the work necessary in-house. That impressed me.
       “I knew of Ed’s interest in selling the business and became more interested as the rebuild went along – some months later we did the deal,” he continued. “I am thrilled about the sale and Ed wanting to stay on. "
        Founded in 1958, EPRE has enjoyed success in nearly every form of racing. General Manager Frank Honsowetz, who joined the company in 2001 after a 27-year career with Nissan North America, will continue the day-to-day operational oversight under Malloy’s ownership. EPRE employs a 13-member staff, with an average of 17 years of service. 

February 1...The WMRA schedule has been released and is on the schedule page. Their season includes two races in Canada. A total of 217 races are slated for the 2008 season. 

January 28...The schedule page has been updated 207 races are currently scheduled for the 2008 season, with the addition of the BCRA Midget Series slate. The USAC National Midget race originally scheduled March 21 at Thunder Hill Raceway (<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 /> Kyle , Texas ) has been postponed indefinitely. Event promoters and USAC officials are exploring opportunities for rescheduling of the event later in 2008. The postponement was announced to create increased opportunities for enhanced promotional opportunities for the only scheduled appearance of the series in the Texas .   

January 26...The schedule page has been updated 186 races are currently scheduled for the 2008 season.  

January 25... Tri-City Speedway (Pontoon Beach, Ill.) will host the "Gold Crown Midget Nationals" on Oct.  9,10 and 11.  Saturday's A-Main paying an impressive $15,000 to win and $1,000 to start. The O'Reilly POWRi Racing Series presented by Lucas Oil will sanction the event. 
        Open practice will be on Wednesday, Oct. 8. Thursday and Friday's racing will have a full lineup of heat races and feature events.  The top two finishers from Thursday and Friday night's feature will be locked into Saturday night's feature, along with the next top four in points.  The remaining cars will be lined up according to points on Saturday and race their way into the feature. 

January 20...Brad Loyet led all 25 laps of the first “DuQuoin Winter Series” presented by Broken Bow Records. Loyet led 19 other starters into Turn 1 and never looked back despite a photo finish with Tim Siner to end the evening’s POWRi doubleheader. Siner caught Loyet during the final four laps and tried desperately to perform a slide job on the 20-year-old, but came up .067 seconds short on the temporary sixth-mile indoor facility. January 14...The 23-race USAC Western Midget Car Series schedule has been announced and is posted on our schedule page.

January 12...Damion Gardner picked perhaps the largest dirt track stage in history to shine upon by racing to victory lane in Saturday night's 50-lap championship main event at Tulsa Expo Raceway's 22nd Annual Dodge Chili Bowl Midget Nationals. After winning Friday night's Qualifying feature, "The Demon" raced into the lead on the eleventh lap and led the rest of the way to become the 16th different winner in event history. Dave Darland and Shane Cottle joined the California driver on the podium. See results page. 

January 11...Damion Gardner, piloting Jason Leffler's Pace Electronics/Team ASE No. 71g, made the top side of the ¼-mile clay oval inside the QuikTrip Center work over the latter stages of the 25-lap feature and swept into the lead on the 22nd lap to snare the victory in Friday night's O'Reilly Auto Parts Qualifying event at Tulsa Expo Raceway's Dodge Chili Bowl Nationals. Also earning trandfer psotion into Saturday's feature were: Dave Darland, Leffler, and Kasey Kahne. See results page.

January 10...Brad Kuhn solidly established himself as one of the favorites to win the 22nd Annual Dodge Chili Bowl Nationals atop the Tulsa Expo Raceway ¼-mile clay oval inside the QuikTrip Center by wiring the field in Thursday night's 25-lap Warren CAT Qualifying feature event. See results page.

January 9...Josh Ford won  Wednesday night's 25-lap Creek Nation Casino Qualifying Showdown feature event at the 22nd Annual Dodge Chili Bowl Nationals atop the Tulsa Expo Raceway clay oval. Ford surged into the lead upon the completion of the eighth lap and led the rest of the way for his second career Chili Bowl preliminary feature win. Aaron Fiscus, Jerry Coons Jr. and Bryan Clauson earned transfer positions into Saturday's Championship feature. See results page.

January 8...Josh Most came out on top of a torrid battle for the lead to win Tuesday night's Bass Pro Shops 25-lap Pre-Qualifying feature event as the 22nd Annual Dodge Chili Bowl Nationals kicked off at the Tulsa Expo Raceway inside the QuikTrip Center. Most and Chett Gehrke swapped the point in the final rounds with Most taking the lead for keeps on the 24th lap. Most beat Gehrke to the line, with Tim Noble,  Anthony Peterman and Austin Brown rounding out the top five. See results page.
