Prairie, WI (11/25/04)----Bobby East used a late
season charge with victories at Tucson (Ariz.) Raceway Park on Nov. 20
and the Nov. 25 Turkey Night Grand Prix at Irwindale
(Calif.) Speedway to emerge as the 2004 National Midget Driver of the
Year Champion. A total of 180 races were run over an 11 month period.
East also captured
the USAC National Midget Car Series championship. East's season was
highlighted by victories in the Hut Hundred, Belleville Midget
Nationals and Turkey Night Grand Prix. East finished 196 points ahead
of Davey Ray, with Badger Midget Series champion Scott Hatton, Josh
Wise, David Gough, Mike Hess, Brandon Waelti, Jerry Coons Jr., Aaron
Fike and Brad Kuhn. as 514 drivers earned points.
Brett
Anderson
topped Greg Dennett by 12 points to capture the Design 500 Racewear
National Midget Rookie of the Year Award. In the National Midget
Manufacturer of the Year Award, Gaerte engines claimed the engine
manufacture award for the fourth straight year, while Stealth
topped the point battle for chassis builders.
